QGIS Training: QGIS × AI Agent Practical Course, Streamlining Your Workflow with the Mapsuke Plugin (Nov. 17, in Japanese)

Date: (JST) | Online

Overview and purpose

This course is for people who understand basic spatial analysis in QGIS. You learn how to use an AI agent (Claude Code or Codex CLI) through the Mapsuke plugin. Tell the AI agent what you want to do in the QGIS chat panel, and it operates QGIS for you.

Through practical spatial data analysis examples, you learn the following:

  • How to set up Mapsuke, understand the basics of its interface, and switch between the approval modes (Ask and Auto) according to the risk of the task
  • How an AI agent uses the QGIS Processing tools, and how to carry out a series of spatial data analyses by giving prompts, from fetching data to making maps for reports and for web publishing
  • How to create skills that keep the quality of the output consistent
  • How to create tools that you can share and use with other users
QGIS and Mapsuke: run a workflow through the Mapsuke chat and create a PDF report

Who this course is for

  • Anyone who understands basic spatial analysis in QGIS and wants to work even more efficiently with an AI agent
  • Anyone who wants to learn how to make QGIS work more efficient and automated

Common challenges and needs

  • You repeat similar data processing and map-making in QGIS, and doing it by hand takes a lot of time
  • You want to automate your work, but writing Python is a high hurdle
  • You want to use Claude or Codex for GIS work too, but you don't know how

Main topics

  • Mapsuke basics (how it works, approval modes, and more)
  • Data analysis through prompts
  • Checking and adjusting the quality of the output
  • Creating skills (standardizing work procedures and output quality)
  • Creating and sharing tools
  • Automating the creation and publishing of web maps

Note: The course content may change.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills (using a mouse and keyboard, searching the internet)
  • You have taken “QGIS Training: Spatial Analysis, Vector Edition”, or have equivalent knowledge
  • You can use Claude Code or Codex CLI

What to prepare before the course

  • A computer (Windows or macOS)
  • An internet connection
  • QGIS 3.44 long-term release (LTR)
  • The Zoom application
