QGIS Training: Spatial Analysis, Raster Edition (Oct. 30, in Japanese)
Date: (JST)
| Online
Course features and what you will learn
Course features
- This is a practical course that systematically teaches analysis with raster data, from loading and visualizing raster data to analysis, reclassification, and calculation.
- The content is designed for use in a wide range of fields, such as terrain analysis and satellite data analysis.
- The course carefully explains key points that are hard to learn through self-study, such as how to set a coordinate reference system and what to do when problems occur.
- The course works together with QGIS LAB by MIERUNE, so participants can keep learning on their own after it ends.
What you will learn
- Basic knowledge of raster data and effective ways to visualize it
- Terrain analysis with elevation data (digital elevation model, DEM), including calculating slope and aspect
- Methods for reclassifying raster values
- Numerical calculations and conditional analysis with the Raster Calculator
- Analysis methods that combine raster and vector data, such as masking and clipping

Who this course is for
- Anyone who wants to learn how to work with and analyze raster data in QGIS from the basics
- Anyone who wants to take on analysis and visualization with terrain and environmental data
- Anyone who has completed “QGIS Training: Spatial Analysis, Vector Edition” and wants to build their skills further
Common challenges and needs
- Having raster data such as a DEM but not knowing how to use it
- Wanting to take on terrain analysis such as slope, aspect, and sunlight
- Wanting to analyze several raster datasets in combination
Learning goals
- Understand the basics of raster data and learn practical QGIS operations
- Learn to visualize terrain characteristics such as slope, aspect, and elevation difference effectively with raster analysis
- Learn to use raster analysis methods to analyze data according to your purpose
- Develop the ability to understand phenomena from multiple perspectives through spatial analysis that combines raster and vector data
Course fee
- General ticket: ¥33,000 (tax included)
- Student ticket: ¥3,300 (tax included)
Certificate
- This course is accredited under the QGIS Certification Programme.
- MIERUNE Inc. donates 20 EUR to the QGIS project for each certificate it issues.
